People are the real agents and owners of development. They have the ability to work for development. For this, they need to be organized, united together and capacitated with a common perspective as their own. This objective aims at promoting such a process in a sustainable manner. Ongoing collective search and role analysis by all the actors involved is the base of this objective.

Decentralized and participatory mode of intervention is identified, approved and internalized by KAIROS in all its intervention areas as the way for bringing about sustainable development. By decentralization, we mean to invest real power and right to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the activities and programmes in the structures, where such roles have to be performed.

Today environment and health are major areas of development concern. Non polluted environment and holistic health are essential for the very existence of the human race. Any harm to the environment will be harm to the society also. With this understanding, we pursue the objective of protecting environment and promoting health of the community.

In the process of development, women and men have equal role to play and responsibility to undertake. In all the intervention areas, it is the need of the hour to have gender equity for the just sharing and owning up of the fruits of development initiatives.

Amidst the rich natural and human resources, individuals and groups remain unemployed or underemployed. An entreprenuarial culture has to be instilled into the thinking pattern of people if resources have to be optimally utilised, to further development. With this understanding, we take up various programmes to promote an entrepreneurial culture.
