Life insurance Programme through SHGs
The objective of the scheme is to provide life insurance protection to the rural and urban poor persons below poverty line and marginally above the poverty line. Any person who is in between 18 years and 59 years and below or marginally above poverty line is eligible for the coverage of the scheme. Moreover, a member of the any approved vocation/occupation groups is also eligible. KAIROS have entered into a tie with the life insurance corporation of India, the public sector life insurance company and have selected as a nodal agency for promoting the scheme. A member need to remit a monthly premium of Rs. 100, 110, 125, 150, 165, 166, 200, 250, 500, 1000 respectively. The minimum number of members in a group is 25. As of now, KAIROS has enrolled a total 1887 members under the scheme and the benefit has distributed among 155 till date.
