KLM Suraksha Swavalamban

Under the guidance of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI), the KLM (Kerala Labour Movement) division of the Diocese of Kannur under the direct control of KAIROS has launched a insurance programme Swavalamban for the welfare of the families whose heads are in the unorganized sector. CBCI Commission for Labour has started to enroll the unorganized workers into Mazdoor Suraksha Yojana(MSY) Secheme ,a social security program .By MSY CBCI Labour commission makes easy for unorganized workers to access ‘Swavalamban’ or NPS Lite and Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojan (RSBY) schemes of the Government of India. KAIROS has enrolled 922 families in this scheme and this are still continuing even now. The department for unorganized sector at KAIROS takes special interest to renew the policies every year.
