Orientation Programmes through People’s Groups

One of the major reasons for the low status of the target community is ignorance of essential matters that would help improve their situation. This includes development issues, health issues, environmental issues and poor awareness on the changes that occur in the society around them. They are also ignorant of their constitutional rights and privileges, the government schemes and programmes that may help them to improve their socio-economic situation, get support for income generation programmes, etc. For this KAIROS has established an ongoing scheme of orientation and awareness generation programmes for the members of the village level SHGs and their Federations. These groups are convening their meeting once in a month or twice in a month to discuss their problems and grievances. It was made mandatory for every groups to conduct an awareness/orientation programmes in that meeting, involving some experts which they will find out or involving the KAIROS who has expertise in the subject.
