Watershed Management and Environment Protection

We are implementing the projects with the financial support from Western Ghat Development Cell, NABARD, Save A Family Plan etc. The implementation structure we followed is,

We are implementing plenty of watershed development programmes in Kannur and Kasargod districts. Until this period we could cover the following Gramapanchayats for the conservation and preservation of Soil, water and biomass.

Watershed Activities

Natural Resource Management

Stone Bunding, Crescend Bunding, Water Percolation Pits, Agrostological measures over the Stone bund, Stream Bank protection measures, Rain Water Harvesting Practices, VCBs, Fodder grass cultivation, Promotion of Azolla, construction of Wier, distribution of plants and Planting trees, Vermi Composting, Well recharging, Bio gas plant construction, mulching, Nurseries etc.

Production System Management

Banana cultivation, Amorphophalus cultivation, Organic Vegetable Cultivation, Herbal Medicinal plants, Organic Fertiliser Distribution, Cow Rearing, poultry unit etc.

Livelihood Support

Poultry, Cow Rearing, Goat Rearing, Rabbit Rearing, Copra Drier units, Japaneese Quail rearing units, Pig rearing, Petty Shops, Marketing Centres, Awareness trainings etc.

Participatory Rural Appraisal, Awareness classes for watershed development and Management, Project Administration, Documentation.
