“Unarvu” – Anti-drug Awareness Generation Programme
There is a multitude of effective substance abuse prevention interventions that may have different areas of focus and can be implemented in a variety of settings. Interventions can involve the family, school, and community and may provide substance abuse prevention for an individual or a population of youth by focusing on environmental and community factors and policies, developmental factors, or skill development.
“Unarvu” is a unique and integrated, comprehensive and coherent program planned and implemented by KAIROS for people living in urban, suburban and rural areas, children studying in schools, families, and communities to propagate drug abuse prevention and alcoholism. KAIROS observed among its targeted communities, many families have been destroyed and many are on the verge of sabotage, mainly due to alcoholism and drug abuse. The situation of is more dangerous, where school children and youth are haunted by the drug mafia. Awareness generation programmes had been organized and conducted for the members of the SHGs, School Children of many schools especially those are studying in X std and higher secondary classes. The programme is still going on successfully
